Prayer Letter

March 2012 Prayer Letter

Dear Praying Friends,

March 31st is fast approaching and we are very excited to be returning home to the Philippines.  In the last eight months, we have driven around 45,000 miles.   We enjoyed our time with Christian friends all across the United States and Canada, but we are ready to return to the field!

We have a very busy month coming up.  My sister & her family are missionaries in Mexico, and I will be spending a week with them in Mexico for the first time in over nine years.

Many of you may remember when my father, Evangelist Jerry Lewis, passed away in 2005.  In October of this last year, my mother began courting Evangelist Larry Brown from Iowa.  We are very happy to be able to be able to participate in their wedding on March 29th.

During the month of March, my brother & I will be moving my mom’s things to Iowa and returning our van that we rented for our furlough to Missouri.  We will also be working on getting our own things packed and shipped to the Philippines.

Young People at Youth Camp 2011April & May are our summer months in the Philippines, and we immediately have many activities to prepare for as soon as we arrive.  Please pray for us as we hold our summer youth camp May 6-10.  My brother, a newly ordained minister, will be preaching our camp this year.

In June, Lord willing, we will start Lighthouse Baptist College.  This will be a full-time Bible college with live-in students.  Please pray for everything to come together……..students, curriculum, dormitories, and staff.  It is our desire to train young men & women for full-time ministry, and we are trusting the Lord to put all of the details together.

Two men in our church in the Philippines had struggled with baptism for years.  One of the men attended our very first opening service in 2004.  He has been saved for over 5 years and had not yet been baptized.  Another man has been saved for over 3 years.  When we would talk to these men about baptism, they would say, “But Pastor, baptism does not save right?”   We encouraged them & prayed for them…….and last Sunday, both of these men followed the Lord in believers baptism.  Amen!

As we all work together to reach the world with the gospel,

Missionary Travis Lewis
